Men in Black 3 Continues to Transport Carroll Gardens to 1969

My unfailingly charming neighborhood of Carroll Gardens has itself been charmed by the production designers working on Men in Black 3. The crew shot some scenes last night (May 28) and must be planning on doing some more, as Court Street continues to be lined with classic 1960s-era automobiles. Lu and I walked up the street today and saw vintage treasures including the Pontiac LeMans, Oldsmobile 98 and Olds Cutlass, Buick Skylark, Cadillac Eldorado and Coup de Ville, Ford Thunderbird, Lincoln Continental, and – representing Kenosha in a sea of Detroit – an AMC Ambassador. Hard to believe how huge these old gas guzzlers were (and are) – and how much exhaust they belch into the air. The photo above shows some phony period-piece taxi cabs parked between Sackett and DeGraw streets, making for a cool retro scene (where’s Travis Bickle?). What a deal – 45 cents for the first 1/6 mile. For more MIB 3 pics, see here.
