False Start

So, we’re stuck in Atlanta. Our flight out of LaGuardia was delayed almost an hour (air traffic); we then waited to park at the gate at Hartsfield for 15-20 minutes before taxiing to a new gate. That last delay was just enough time to keep Lu and me from making our connection to Rio. We have to wait until 9:45 pm to fly tonight, so Delta put us up in a hotel in one of those God-forsaken interstate exit campuses, featuring several hotels, a KFC, a Chevron, a Waffle House, etc.

Anyway, we decided to make the most of the opportunity. Neither one of us has been to Atlanta before, and since we’ve got all day we’re going to head downtown and check out the World of Coca-Cola museum – something, in all seriousness, I’ve always wanted to see. (If you knew me when I was 16 you’d understand.) Perhaps we’ll take in a classic history lesson about flying to close to the sun…
